1. Introduction
Eduardo Scatolin Palazzo ("we", "our", "us", "the Developer") operates the Android mobile app Share Coords (hereinafter referred to as "Service") available on Google’s Play Store.
Our Privacy Policy governs your use of the Service, and explains how we collect, safeguard and disclose information that results from your use of our Service.
We use your data to provide and improve our Service. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, the terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.
Our Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all use of our Service and together with the Privacy Policy constitutes your agreement with us ("Agreement").
2. Definitions
SERVICE means the Android mobile app Share Coords (as well as supporting web services) operated by the Developer.
PERSONAL DATA means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).
USAGE DATA is data collected automatically either generated by the use of our Service or from our Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
COOKIES are small files stored on your device (computer or mobile device).
DATA CONTROLLER means a natural or legal person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are, or are to be, processed. For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, we are a Data Controller of your data.
DATA PROCESSORS (or SERVICE PROVIDERS) means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller. We may use the services of various Service Providers in order to process your data more effectively.
DATA SUBJECT is any living individual who is the subject of Personal Data.
THE USER is the individual using our Service. The User corresponds to the Data Subject, who is the subject of Personal Data.
3. Information Collection and Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
4. Types of Data Collected
4.1. Personal Data
If you correspond with us, we may collect certain personally-identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally-identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
4.1.1. First name and last name;
4.1.2. Email address;
4.1.3. Address, which may include City, State/Province, ZIP/Postal Code and Country;
4.1.4. Phone number.
4.2. Usage Data
We may collect information about your use of our Service ("Usage Data") in the following ways:
4.2.1. Voluntarily disclosed by yourself when you contact us to report an issue:
We may ask you to provide us with information about your device maker and model, the Android version running on your device, the name and version of our mobile app installed on your device.
We may also ask you to provide us with information about your configuration settings, in which case we will let you know how to find such information in our Service.
This Usage Data is collected to help us to solve specific issues ("bugs"), improve and customize our Service.
4.2.2. Automatically collected while you use our Service:
We may automatically collect information such as your device model, your device operating system (with version), your location (See Location Data below), the screens you visit, the buttons you click, app crash reports and other diagnostic data in an aggregate form, such that it cannot reasonably be manipulated to identify you.
This Usage Data is collected through our use of Google Firebase to monitor the performance, improve and customize our Service.
4.3. Location Data
Our Service uses Google's Location services to allow your device to receive GPS ("Global Positioning System") coordinates, namely "latitude and longitude".
We do not collect your specific GPS coordinates when you use our Service.
We may automatically collect information about your location in an aggregate form such as country or region ("Location Data") when you use our Service.
This Location Data is collected through our use of Google Firebase to monitor the performance, improve and customize our Service.
You can enable or disable Location services when you use our Service at any time by way of your device Settings. Features of our Service using Location-based services may not function properly if the use or availability of Location Data is impaired or disabled.
4.4. Tracking Cookies Data
We do not use cookies to track your activity on our Service. For such reason, our supporting website does not respond to "Do Not Track", if such is set up in your web browser.
However, the third-party advertisements provided by Google AdMob may use cookies to track your activities, especially when you interact with their ads.
4.5. Your Contacts List Data
Our Service has a feature that allows you to choose a specific pair of GPS coordinates captured by your device and share them to third-party apps installed on your device. Such third-party apps may require that you select at least one of your contacts, meaning that they may access your mobile device's native contacts list – but we do not require that you import your contacts list to our Service, and we do not access or retain the information contained in your contacts list.
You understand that by sharing your GPS coordinates using our Service, you are directly sending a text message from your personal accounts on third-party apps and that we are not accessing or storing your contact list, not even your email address or phone number, as retrieved by such third-party apps.
In addition, you understand and agree that normal carrier charges may apply to communications sent from your device. Since the actual sharing of GPS coordinates is coming directly from third-party apps installed on your device, we do not have access to or control this communication.
5. Use of Data
The Developer uses the collected data for various purposes:
5.1. to provide and maintain our Service;
5.2. to allow you to participate in pre-release testing of features of our Service when you choose to do so;
5.3. to provide user support;
5.4. to gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service;
5.5. to monitor the usage of our Service;
5.6. to detect, prevent and address technical issues;
5.7. to fulfil any other purpose for which you provide it;
5.8. in any other way we may describe when you provide the information;
5.9. for any other purpose with your consent.
6. Retention of Data
We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
7. Transfer of Data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to – and maintained on – computers located outside of your state/province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside Canada and choose to provide information to us, please note that we may transfer your data, including Personal Data, to Canada via servers located in the United States, and process it in Canada.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
We will take all the steps reasonably necessary, and within our capabilities, to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and that no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organisation or a country unless there are adequate controls in place, including the security of your data and other personal information.

8.3.6. if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Developer, our users, our customers, or others.
9. Security of Data
The security of your data is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
10. Compromise of Data
In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, the Developer will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

CalOPPA is the first state law in the United States of America to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law’s reach stretches well beyond California to require a person or company in the United States (and conceivable the world) that operates websites collecting personally identifiable information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals with whom it is being shared, and to comply with this policy.
According to CalOPPA we agree to the following:
12.1. users can use our Service anonymously. Our Service does not require login and password. Our supporting web services do not track you with cookies, and so they do not respond to "Do Not Track", if such is set up in your web browser.

It can also be found in the Service itself: a) in the welcome screen, when you open the app for the first time, and b) from the app menu, option "About Share Coords";
12.3. users are invited to regularly review the Privacy Policy as we cannot guarantee that the Service will always prompt you back to the welcome screen to read and accept a new policy the next time you open the app;
12.4. users are able to change their personal information by emailing us at our email.

13.1.7. a list of categories of personal information that we have disclosed for a business purpose, along with the category of any other company we shared it with.
Please note, you are entitled to ask us to provide you with this information up to two times in a rolling twelve-month period. When you make this request, the information provided may be limited to the personal information we collected about you in the previous 12 months.
13.2. To delete your personal information.
If you make this request, we will delete the personal information we hold about you as of the date of your request from our records and direct any service providers to do the same. In some cases, deletion may be accomplished through de-identification of the information.
13.3. To stop selling your personal information.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to any third-parties for any purpose.
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.
However, under some circumstances, a transfer of personal information to a third-party without monetary consideration may be considered a "sale" under California law. You are the only owner of your Personal Data and can request disclosure or deletion at any time.
To exercise your California data protection rights described above, please send your request(s) by email: our email.
Your data protection rights, described above, are covered by the CCPA, short for the California Consumer Privacy Act. To find out more, visit the official California Legislative Information website. The CCPA took effect on January 1st, 2020.
14. Service Providers
